Hi, Iām Michael. I have been a therapist for over ten years now and currently reside in Greensboro, NC, but have lived in many regions of the US, including Washington state, Michigan, Colorado, and Indiana. I have worked with clients of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. Much of my clinical experience so far comes from working in community based settings, psychiatric hospitals and spiritual settings. Though I have worked with children and families, my current focus is teenagers, adults, couples, and parents.
Outside my work, I have a jack-of-all-trades approach to life including baking, gardening, and any musical instrument that I can find at an estate sale. I spend much of my time outdoors with my partner, two kids, and our dog named Bear.
I come from Dutch, German, Nordic, and French ancestry. I note this because without understanding the cultures I come from and the impact they have made, I would be without culture. Most of the peoples I have come from have brought harm to others. As I understand that and the privilege I now have because of their legacy, I am creating a new trajectory away from their subjugation of others but also want to embrace the beautiful practices they still can offer.
